Toms River School Program

Volunteers (Bigs) meet for 1 hour each week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday anytime between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Meeting time would depend upon the school ending time of the child (Little) you are matched with. Available locations are Pine Beach Elementary School, Intermediate South School, Beachwood Elementary School, and South Toms River Elementary School. You may meet in the cafeteria or gym, a classroom, or computer lab, and engage in a variety of activities: recreation, educational games, or simply talking about what's happening. A Big Brothers Big Sisters Coordinator orients Bigs to the school building, introduces them to their Little Brothers or Little Sisters, and establishes a place and activities available for their meetings. The Coordinator supports each relationship for the duration of the school year and remains a resource to celebrate successes and/or solve problems.
