BlueClaws Honor Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County

The BlueClaws honored Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County (BBBSOC) during the recent Hagerstown game for the work the agency does on behalf of the children and families of Ocean County.

Tickets were provided to the mentors (Bigs) and children (Littles) to enjoy the fun-filled evening. The first pitch was thrown by Little, Josh, as the Bigs, Littles, and staff of BBBSOC cheered him on. It was an exciting game with the BlueClaws winning 5 – 4.

A number of the Bigs have been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County for a number of years. They’ve commented that while some of the Littles come with issues, they enjoy helping the Littles work through their concerns knowing they are a positive influence in their lives. Because of the commitment of the Bigs and the BBBSOC program staff, the Littles continue to achieve educational success, avoid risky behavior including drugs and alcohol, and have a higher graduation rate from high school.

Former BBBSOC CEO Sue Sedivec commented “This is a marvelous night for our Littles as well as the Bigs and provides the opportunity for them to spend quality, fun time together. Without the support of the BlueClaws, these children would not have this wonderful experience.”

Thank you to the BlueClaws for an amazing evening.
